CreativeXchange 2017 Session Two – Agents of Change: Designing With, For and as “Good Neighbors” to One Another

In order to develop products, services and experiences that best serve our colleagues and community members, we must deeply understand their needs, motivations, values and goals. In Session 2, artists, designers, and community advocates, Aviva Kapust and Michael O’Bryan from The Village of Arts and Humanities lead a series of exercises and discussions aimed at cultivating a people-centered workforce that is fueled by the quality of its relationships to one another, and to the broader local community. Drawing on their nationally recognized work with youth, artists, businesses and communities in North Philadelphia and around the country, Kapust and O’Bryan share The Village’s philosophy and methodology which utilizes the arts as its most powerful tool for learning and building, together. Through co-creation, The Village works to shape and amplify culture, creating opportunities for people to envision and create a better future for themselves and their families.
