G. Fred DiBona, Jr. Individual Leadership Award 2018 Winner PNC Arts Alive + Regina Canfield
Regina (Jean) E. Canfield is Senior Vice President and Director, Client & Community Relations, for the Philadelphia, Delaware, Southern New Jersey market of PNC. In this role, Canfield is a direct report of the PNC Regional President, and she is responsible to implement business and branding initiatives, in addition to overseeing PNC’s regional foundation grant making, sponsorships, internal communications and client events.
Canfield has been instrumental in improving visibility and effectiveness for PNC’s community relations activities in the Greater Philadelphia region for more than 20 years. Among her accomplishments is the development and execution of PNC Arts Alive, a multi-year, multi-million dollar initiative of the PNC Foundation to support audience development among regional visual and performing arts organizations. To-date, PNC Arts Alive has provided $9 million in grant funding to over 60 regional visual and performing arts organizations.
Canfield also has regional oversight of PNC Grow Up Great, the company’s signature program dedicated to quality preschool education for underserved children. She has also been a key participant in internal PNC teams including those managing merger activity as well as women’s issues, employee affinity groups and diversity.
Canfield was recognized in 2008 as a Woman of Distinction by the Philadelphia Business Journal. The 2010 Cultural Access Award was presented to Canfield and PNC by Art Reach. In 2016, she was one of three recipients of the annual Police Athletic League (PAL) Award, recognizing her contributions to children and youth throughout her career. And, in 2017, Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY) presented Canfield with the Public Citizen of the Year Award.
Active in the community, Canfield is a past board member of the Children’s Scholarship Fund, she is on the Advisory Board of PCCY, she is a member of the Forum of Executive Women, and she has served on the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce’s Paradigm Award Committee.
Canfield resides in Southern New Jersey with her husband, Patrick, and she is retiring from PNC May 4, 2018, after 43 years at PNC, 25 in the Community Relations Group.
