Upcoming CreativeXchange Workshop:
CreativeXchange consists of four experiential workshop sessions, each focusing on a different approach to a specific creative process. Participants will interact with some of Philadelphia’s top creative minds and investigate several techniques that our instructors use to cultivate a sense of innovation in their work. Our instructors will equip participants with the necessary skills and training to define and develop a repeatable creative methodology that can translate to the participant’s workplace. Session 2 Description:
Activating Empathy: Retrain the Brain to Listen Differently with Stanford Thompson, Founder + Executive Director, Play On, Philly! An accomplished trumpeter and a graduate of the Curtis Institute, Stan will help participants train their brains to actively listen for the “core needs” of those around them, from colleagues to community members, ultimately expanding each participant’s capacity to learn, listen, and effectively lead their teams during difficult moments. Through observing and dissecting live performance with this newfound lens, as well as participatory activities, participants will begin to understand all of the necessary components that, when put together, make an orchestra, and any team, sound like a cohesive unit.
