DESIGNING LEADERSHIP SESSION 4 – AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP: DESIGN YOUR PERSONAL BRAND + LEAD WITH EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Led by Peter Mostachetti, Global Solutions Leader, Leadership & Management Development, IBM.
Day 4 begins with a focus on Authentic Leadership – knowing who you are as a leader – and how to communicate your ‘brand’ as a leader. Participants will explore personal brands in life and in leadership and define their vision and mission as a leader. They will create their own personal brand as a leader and create a plan of how to ‘market’ their brand. The second half of the day continues with Emotional Intelligence: The New Yardstick for Leaders. This session focuses on understanding the difference between EQ and IQ. Participants will learn about the impact of EQ on organizational performance and why there is increased focus on the people side of the equation in the workplace. Goleman’s model of five EI components serves as the framework for the discussion and lays the foundation for increased awareness of the EI of individuals and teams in your organization. Through a focus on self-awareness, participants will consider ways in which they can increase their own EI.
Designing Leadership 2018 consists of five classroom sessions, each with a focus on a different leadership competencies and techniques.
