Creative Economy Award for Distinction in a For-Profit Creative Field 2017 Winner Bluecadet’s Josh Goldblum
Josh Goldblum is a Philadelphia native and the founder and CEO of Bluecadet, an Emmy Award-winning digital agency with clients that include MoMA, The Smithsonian Institution, Doctors Without Borders, Princeton University, and The Philadelphia Museum of Art. Josh began his career in digital media at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., but, inspired by Philly’s intersection of history, entrepreneurial spirit, and extraordinary creative talent, he returned home in 2007 to launch Bluecadet. As a pioneer of technology in the service of culture, Josh believes that digital design, like all great art, is a powerful, democratic vehicle for collaboration and connection.
Since its launch, Bluecadet has grown to nearly 50 employees, and Josh has fostered an environment in which creative problem solving and pushing boundaries are encouraged and rewarded. He’s been a featured speaker at conferences including Museums and the Web, American Alliance of Museums, AIGA, and HOW Interactive Design Conference. In 2014, Josh was dubbed Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best Digital Visionary” and the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce presented him with their Small Business Person of the Year award.
