Last week, we hosted a truly inspiring and energizing conversation between Adam Grant and Luvvie Ayaji Jones. Grant’s book, Think Again, is centered around an idea of rethinking our assumptions and using our core values as a guide. This ability to explore what you don’t know, to understand others’ perspective, and build a “challenge network” to test your beliefs, is critical not only to being a leader, but to connecting with different people.

We recapped the discussion with five key takeaways, but as Al Chiaradonna, Senior Vice President, SEI, summed things up at the event’s closing remarks, it wasn’t so much what was said, but how it was said. In other words, you have to be in the (virtual) room where it happens! To that end, don’t miss our next event with a keynote by architect, Vishaan Chakrabarti.

At last week’s event, Adam Grant noted that we were forced to rethink everything in 2020, but we must intentionally rethink things in 2021. For many of us, that means rethinking the kinds of leaders we want to be and the way we want to run our organizations. Join us this spring to explore new ways to be a creative professional with our Designing Leadership program.
