The Arts + Business Council, along with the rest of our Chamber colleagues, returned to the office last week. For the first time since March 2020, I had a workday with many in-person meetings and without a single Zoom – it was glorious. How will you celebrate the return to in-person interactions, the end of the year, or the holiday season? We hope you’ll consider hiring artists or arts organizations to deploy their talents – music, dance, theatre, etc. – in the spirit of employee engagement and genuine connection. Check out our Artist Directory – a resource to help you connect with local talent – and if you do end up partnering with one of the featured organizations, please let us know how it goes!

It’s a busy month here. We’ve just announced our first Defining Innovation event of the season, with Indra Nooyi, former CEO of Pepsi and author of the best-selling new memoir, My Life in Full. Join us to learn more about Nooyi’s innovative approaches to topics like corporate responsibility and sustainability, as well as her push for more workplace flexibility.

As part of the Chamber’s new Community & Culture business unit, we’re also excited about the upcoming event The Great Reshuffling: The Impact of Remote Work on Relocation Trends. With a panel of experts from Zillow, JLL, AARP, and Center City District, I’ll moderate a discussion about how the pandemic has affected the Philadelphia region and the latest trends in where people and companies are moving.

We’re also gearing up for our 2022 season of Business on Board, our signature program training business professionals to become effective arts organization board members. Learn more about this professional development opportunity and join a cohort of business leaders similarly passionate about the success of Philadelphia’s cultural community.

Best,
