Over the course of its 37-year history, the Arts + Business Council Awards have changed shape many times. When I joined ABC, many friends of the organization told me about the legendary Awards programs from the ’80s and ’90s, with more than 1,000 attendees for a three-hour luncheon. I heard stories about the celebrities honored over the years, and have seen old photos full of Philly A-listers.

But times have changed. When was the last time that you went to a three-hour luncheon? And while we all love a good celebrity showing, we’ve all gotten a bit more serious these past few years. Awards need to celebrate the right kind of success, championing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This year’s Awards, we are doubling down on our mission to focus on collaborations between the arts and business community. Through this distinct focus, we will not only cheer successful projects from the past year but also hope to stoke interest in how the business and creative communities can come together to create a more equitable city full of accessible art.

Does this sound like a project you know of or participated in? Nominate it! Know of another partnership between an arts organization and a business? Nominate it!

We look forward to creating a new era of convivial and meaningful Awards with you and hope we’ll all be partying in person together later this spring.

Best,
